Note from Mr Dirom to Dr Cullen 10th December 1787

Mr Dirom has made trial of Dr Cullens prescription of the 29th November
for a week, without any beneficial effect.

the bathing between the Scrotum and the Anus too, seems to have lost
any good effects, which he thought it had at first and now makes
things rather worse. -- The pain is exactly as Dr Cullen describes
it, after making water. -- and the irritation or desire to make
water
has rather become more frequent.

The former note ment the rawness of the parts & the want of [mucus?]
was the opinion of his country practitioner, & he believes without
foundation.

His great Complaint is pain in the neck of the bladder, immediatly
after making water, and too frequent desire to make it.

Altho the pain is chiefly [seated?] in the neck of the bladder, He
feels it sometimes moved to the passage in the midle of the yard
& sometimes to the passage at the point of it. -- Whether this looks
like any thing goutish or not, I cannot say --

The Costiveness brought on by the cold bathing, and the last medicine
was very troublesome.
