Miss Murray
Glad her complaints are over. but prudent to prevent return.
therefore; a journey of 4, 5 or 6, days immediately before the next
Period is expected. This will secure its coming in proper time &
prevent spitting of blood. but as tendency to spitting of blood has often
appeared, continue her vegetables diet. at least till all heat of wea¬
ther be over & this can hardly be the case, she moving always
Southward. Milk the best part of her diet. Cows milk in Italy
tho not plentful must be got. Asses & goats milk very common
& might supply the place of cows milk. Agree with the popular
opinion that milk must be laid aside when any alteration happens
& during that time some food made of grain, with raisins or cur¬
rants must be employed. & the various preparations & combinations
may afford sufficient variety of diet. Cheese altogether impro¬
per. a little butter allowable. Chocolate as commonly pre¬
pared, too heavy & too rich abroad but may be often employed
if weak & thin.
