Sir/

I am very happy to hear it in my power
to acquaint you that Lady Charlotte is in
every respects considerably better, she has
now taken the medicines you ordered a
fortnight; and has certainly reaped great
benefits from them, as she feels herself
much strengthened, and has no degree of
that faintness that she formerly complained
off, she rides on Horseback every Evening,
and has kept to the light & nourishing diet
which you prescribed -- she assures me that
she is now in perfect health, & indeed her

[Page 2]

Looks are greatly improved, I shall however
be glad to know if after a certain period,
({illeg} to happen next weeks) if you
would wish her to take another course of the
medicine. --

Lady Augusta has of late had several times
a return of the pains in her right side, even
without using the exercise of a Carriage - she
is happily quite free of it today, but if it
should return again with any degree of violence
I should be glad to know if you would approve
of the warm Plaister being applyed, which
you ordered last winter, as she frequently found
relief from it then; -- The best method for
sending us any thing from Edinburgh if it does
not require great dispatch, is by James

[Page 3]

James Wilson, Coldstream Carrier, who leaves
Edinburgh every Thursday noon, - if it does require
haste, The best conveyance is The Royal
Charlotte, to be left at Mr: [Sherrs?] Cornhill.

I am Sir with great regard
Your Obliged Humble Servant
I Erroll
