Glasgow 30 July 1784

Dear Dr.,

Tho' the post is going, I will give you
a few Lines, as there is no post to Morrow.

Mr Donald passed some very anxious & rest¬
less days & Nights after you left him.

His Legs were blistered - & He has taken
his Volatile Mixture -

Yesterday He seemed lightened, & had freq¬
uent Stools loose & I am told, brown. He comp¬
lained much that they excoriated the Anus.
Last Night He had little Sleep & several Stools
& was fretted with the pain at the Anus.

I was obliged at Midday to order a Mucilagi¬
nous Glyster
with L.L.. No Stools since, but
has thrown up several times this Evening,
If it but only what he had ate or drank.
If the Vomiting continues I have proposed
a Laxative Glyster -- & if the Vomiting does
not cease - He will get an Anodyne draught

Yours &c

A. Stevenson
