Newcastle June 16th. 1780

Sir

The Miss Peareths since their return
to Newcastle have pursued the Methods You
directed more especially Miss Mary and
Miss Barbara, the first took the Bals. Capivœ
& Pil. Mercur Alternately, her complaint
still continues but in a smaller degree, the
returns being less Violent, but more frequent
- It has been a long tedious troublesome
piece of Business, but as the discharge of
Pus &c is not so great, one would hope the
place of Collection is lessened -- Would You
have them (↑Her↑) persevere or what else would You --
Advise? ----- Miss Barbara's Tumor on
the Region of the Liver is as little Chang'd
as may be, at times She & We think it [cou'd?]
enlarged, but as yet no appearance of external

[Page 2]

Suppuration
has Shown itself -- The Cough and
other complaints much the same ----

-- The Eldest Lady Miss Peareth has pursued
Your ↑Course↑ of Guaic &c and seems better - As the
Family remove into the Country shortly, I
would be oblig'd to You for an answer to
this in the Course of next week -- and am

Sir Your Most
Obedient Humble Servant

Richd: Lambert

P.S. Poor Miss F Simpson Died of her
Abdominal disorder, which upon examina¬
tion turn'd out to be an enlarged Spleen
-- I shall take an opportunity of laying the
appearances before You as they appeared
