For Miss Fraser of Inverallochy

I now understand better the state of Miss Frasers bowels &
stomach perceive that the tendency to looseness is still to be appre¬
hended and gaurded against.

The Pills & Infusion formerly prescribed to be [be?] persisted in
& I shall be glad to be informed of their effects.

In the mean time if Costiveness should occur either in
the intervals of looseness or from the Medicines, it must be
obviated by some gentle laxative.

If in spite of Medicine looseness should return I would advise
five grains of Ipecacuanha to be taken for a Puke, and
in the Evenings, after the operation of this is over. ↑very entirely.↑
I would advise a very moderate Dose of T. T. - I can
have no doubt {illeg} Miss Fraser must have often had
recourse to T. T. and I should wish to know its effects &
in what doses she has taken it --

[Page 2]

No malt Liquor not even Porter. She has
given me a reason why she should abstain from
Wine - and if she needs any Cordial, last it should
be Spirits and water

I am sorry to take away tea which she seems attached
to, but I still think it very improper - I would allow
a little very weak & especially if she will take a Pillu
Cinnamon infused in it - I cannot advise Chocolate
but cocoa is very proper and safe. - I think milk
in a certain quantity might be proper, but if her
stomach does not digest it easily I would not insist
upon it.

Diet no roots greens nor fruit - a little dry
mealy Potatoes is the only one admissable - All
Kind of Grain as Rice Barley, and bread if taken
without either milk or wine are very proper for her

I am glad her breast is easier, but if any pain &c should return the
Blister must not be dispensed with
