Gum Ammoniacum

Gum of Ammon, Gummi amon., Gum Ammoniac. A gum-resin, of peculiar smell, and bitterish taste, the inspissated juice of an umbelliferous plant (Dorema ammoniacum) found wild from North Africa to India. Named lac ammoniacum when it partially dissolves in water to produces a milky fluid.
