Dear Sir

I have yours concerning Mr Gair & have
considered his case very attentively. I hope it is one we
may get the better of & for that purpose would advise him

1. To have a blister put between his shoulders & to
turn a small part of it into a perpetual blister.

2. To take two or three gentle vomits at the distance
of five or six days betwixt each. I think fifteen grains
of Ipecacuanha may be enough for each dose ---

3. Let his belly be kept regular advised below taking
a dose of it as occasion may require.

4. Let his Asses milk be continued & let him ride as
much as he conveniently can. Let it be always in the
forenoon avoiding to be abroad at night & avoiding also every
other occasion of being exposed to Cold.

5. Every night at bedtime let him take three of the
pectoral pills washing them down with two table spoonfulls
of the Pectoral Mixture.

6 Let his diet be kept cool light & rather low. He must
take no meat at supper & only of the lighter whitemeats at
dinner. The more milk & grain he takes into his diet the
better.

7. He should taste no strong drink of any kind. For
ordinary draught he may take [take?] small beer at dinner
but toast water is still better.

[Page 2]

8. Let him take great care not to heat himself by any
bodily Exercise

Attention to these particulars shall I hope soon put him
in a very good way, & I shall be glad to hear of it
