For Mr Watt.

His breast has been threatened with a dangerous but
not confirmed ailment & I hope that by attention and
pains it may be entirely recovered.

Diet of milk & farinacea. Once or twice a week perhaps
you may take a little chicken, lamb, or light white fish
boiled but in great moderation -- No tea or coffee. For
drinks, water or watery liquor. Neither fermented nor spi¬
ritous.

Exercise steady on horseback & gentle tho long continued
as far as your Strength will allow; both mornings & in
fine weather for an hour or two in the Evenings too.
Avoid cold, wet, wear your flannel shirt all summer.
Your walking must be very gentle. Continue your issue as it
is. I do not advise any application to the tumors on your
side as they seem going off but if they turn thicken or harder
wash them twice a day with the Solution ordered below.
Few medicines necessary. I advise only two -

Take an half an ounce of Aromatic Tincture --- one ounce of iron Mix. Label: Strengthening drops; 20 in a glass of water, twice a day: once before your forenoon rise & again when you return before dinner. If these agree well with your Stomach take a third dose at 7 p.m.

Take three drachms of Extract of glycyrrhiza [Infust. minut. couciso?] in a glass or stone mortar with Spring Water, as much as is sufficient to make a soft pulp and [contunud. in pulss.?] add one drachm of Myrrh. and one drachm of powdered [trit.?] Mix and divide the mass into singular pills of 5 grains. Label: Pectoral pills two night & morning. If the morning dose sit uneasy or your Stomach let it alone & take only a dose of three pills in the Evening. With these medicines you may continue your Goat Whey in the morning, taking it in divided draughts nevermore than a chopin; & less, if it do not sit easy.

Take eight ounces of Rose Water. Half an ounce of Vinegar Distillate A drachm and a half of Sugar of Lead. Mix. Label: Lotion for the tumors.
