Representation
There is a certain patient unmarried man Fifty
years of age ↑married↑ free of all Fevers and most scantly other
Disorders since his Infancy till Candlemass last
when without any previous Cause excepting in the Be¬
gining of Winter last he slipped upon an high stone
and fell upon it beinge sharpe in the Top and the conse¬
quence was he found himself Bruised upon the hynd Bones
below the small of the Back Low down this bruise conti¬
nued to Effect him when he sat any time for three months
about fourteen Days before Candlemass Last he received
another fall [up?] his back upon by an slip up (↑on↑) Ice and
Complained of no hurt excepting Instantaneously upon
the Back of his head at Candlemass & thereby he found
upon the Left Lisk an pain something Dangling amongst
the Leaders unto the Left Testicle this continued Eight
Days when he found an hardness, like the Size of an [Coush¬
sue?] Nut upon the end of the Left Testicle and a small
swelling upon the face of said hardness which Increased
in Nine Days time to the sizee of an Goose Egg with some
Dangleing pain and Inflamation upon Which he was
advised by severalle of Surgeons with whom he had applyd
first to Lett Blood then go through an Course of Purging
Physick and taking a little Mercury every night before
the Physick to be inspected every third ↑or↑ of fourth day till
the swelling Wore away upon the first two Dayes it Decreas¬
ed and was free of pain with formentations it

hase been Decreasing till it is Less now every morning
than an Duck Egg but if the Patient should now only
sitt at the Fireside most of the Day time not yet said
Testicle swells towards Bed time every night rather
Bigger than in the mornings and the Principle string
or Leader unto it allways feells hard like a small hemp
String The patient was also advised to rub a very little
Mercurial Ointment to it every second night at Bed
time yet by turns he finds likewise the Right Testicle
towards Bed time also Effected with a Little hardness upon
it Just as the Other began ↑without{illeg} an Dangleing pain↑ but often a Dose of purging Phy¬
sick or in the mornings said swelling and hardness
goes off the said Patient here keep his Bed mostly since
Effected and by advice here lived verry sparringly was
Lastly when overtaken now is pritty thin finds he dare not
even Walk about fearing it Increass the swelling therefore
now Wants Advice from able Physicians what medecine
will best answer to take away this disorder and What
Regimen and Whether to desist as he hase done from
Exercise or to keep his Bed close or not and to know
if he {illeg} Releiff by recovery if no better
