For Mrs Johnston

Mrs Johnstons Complaints seem to be entirely
the relicts of Rheumatism, which often require a long time
to be discussed but it is hoped with some pains they may be
removed.

What is especialy necessary is guarding against
cold, and for this purpose she should wear flannel and
or worsted everywhere next the skin.

Every night and morning her arms and limbs
should be pretty well rubbed with the flesh brush

In fair and dry weather Mrs Johnston should
take a good deal of Exercise on horseback or in a carriage

At this season for a month or six weeks she
should drink Moffat water every morning to twa (↑ two↑)
or three muchkins. And once or twice a month she should
take a warm bath of the same, the best time for which
is towards the evening.

In the month of October she should enter upon
the Course of Medicines ordered below.

Neither now or when taking the Medicines
is any particular Diet necessary for her, only that she
should avoid fish and salted Meats, and in Drink avoid
Malt Liquors. ––– Vide after Captain Johnston
