For Mrs

I am fully informed of this Case by Mr
Stoddart and have no doubt of its having been
entirely Venerial. It has been palliated more
than once by Mercury, but I know that such a
Taint is difficulty eradicated and I am persuaded
that more medicine both internally and externally
will still be necessary but I can hardly think
it would be safe to persist in it in her present
situation, and I would by all means advised to
wean her child before she goes further. At the
same time I have no objection to her inoculating
the child before she weans it, and I am clearly
of opinion that it would be better both for the

mother and the child if the weaning was over
before any more medicine was employed and
then there will be no limits to the quantity that
may be proper
