Capt. Mcpherson

Dear sir

I am heartily concerned for your distress
and send you on the other page a prescription
which I hope you may get prepared in your
neighbourhood. It is intended for relieving
your cough in the night time.

I am of opinion you should continue your
issue in a moderate degree, as the drying it up
entirely would be very dangerous.

If you mean to make any acknowlegement
for the trouble I have taken you should not
delay it till you come to Edinburgh which it would
not be safe for you to attempt for a good while
to come. Wishing you all relief I am

Sir
your most obedient servant
