For Mrs Paterson. from pag.127 1
Take five grains each of prepared Steel and powdered Cinnamon and pure white Sugar. Mix to form a powder and dose. No. 21. Label: Stomachic Powders.
Take three ounces each of pure cinnamon Water and pure peppermint Water, two ounces of Tincture of Peruvian bark and one ounce of aromatic Tincture. Label: Stomachic Tincture
Take one and a half ounces of Elixir Proprietas Vitriolicum and half and ounce of Tincture Thebaic. Label: Anodyne drops

She is to take a powder once a day for a week & twice
a day for the week following. & after two weeks intermis¬
sion, take another course; & again after three weeks
intermission, a third Course. The powder is to be taken
in currant jelly or water berry for they cannot be taken
in a liquid; Wash down the dose with two table sp¬
fuls of the Tincture: The time for taking them is
between 12 & 1 a. m. ↑^ before dinner↑ & if a second is taken it may be
between 7 & 8 p. m.
The drops are to be taken 60 for a dose ↑^ on a bit of sugar↑ in case of
severe pain washing down with two spoonfuls of Pep¬
permint water & in case this does not relieve, a second
dose may be taken in an [hour as required?].
