Normalized Text
For Mr A Davidson.
Tho the ailment is now chiefly in the head it may be supposed
to proceed from its original seat the stomach.
It may therefore be proper still from time to time to give a
gentle vomit.
Let the body. a part of the blister on the crown of his head be kept open
as a perpetual Issue.
Let care be taken to keep his belly open by the Aloetic pill
of our Dispensatory. 1
Let him continue to take bark to a dram or two every day.
Nothing will do him more service than riding on
horseback every forenoon.
1779
Notes:
1: Standard pills made with aloes. See Pharmacopoeia Collegii Regii Medicorum Edinburgensis (Edinburgh: 1774), p. 164.
