For Wm Borthwick Esqr Younger of Crookston


Original weak constitution hurt by hard living.
Must give over strong drink in the forenoon altogether
& a little after Dinner & Supper.


Ordinary drink water - or if costive small bear &
one 4th Porter --- {illeg} breakfast no common Tea nor
Coffee but Cocoa or very weak Tea with dry toast &
a little better - at Dinner a little solid meat filling
up with light pudding, or pancake or vegetables- &
or a little light fish. At Supper no meat, but
milk and grain &
fresh air & gentle exercise


The following for his Thumb.

Take half and ounce each of calamine ointment and Unguentum saturninum. Mix well. Take eight ounces of Rose water and two scruples of Sugar of Lead. Mix. Liquor for washing the sore when he dresses it with the Ointment twice a day.
