Mr Charles Mill Manufactorer Montrose
I think you have taken a great deal too
much Mercury already & cannot see the reason
for giving you more & know that altho you was
to take twice as much as you have already taken
it might have no effect on your running
As you have neither hiat of Urine nor pain on
erection you may safely neglect the running as
it will either stop of itself or maybe easily
cured when your body is in better condition.
At present you should mind only your
nervous complaints & therefore keep to
the Regimen I formerly advised, but lest
your diet be not so low & in the reduced state
you are now you may take a bit of solid meat
every day at Dinner -----
What I would particularly advise is riding
on horseback every tolerable day both for
your Spirits & to prevent your cold fits & what
follows them. - But in riding carefully guard
against cold & hurting your testicles - for the
first a flannel Shirt &c - for the 2.d a good
Suspensory --- you may take some Bark
& not only in the morning but for several times
[Page 2]
a day so as to take two Drams a day for
8 days. -- I see no occasion for Balsam
Copivi ---
