I am sorry but not surprised that her ailment is not
relieved --------------------------- We must not ceased our endeavours
& particularly in the Electricity / for relieving the contraction
of her fingers. I know nothing so effectual as some smart strokes
on the
back of her hand. In the mean time you must take
care by a proper compress or even a bit of Pasteboard to prevent
the Nails from cutting the Palms. I think from time to time
some purging is necessary; but you are to expect that a
larger Dose will be necessary than in usual health and
that the Dose may not become too bulky you may increase
the proportion of the Pulv. e j. Comp.t making it three drams
instead of two - the Cephalic Winewill become familiar
& have little effect. & therefore you may intermit it for
a week or two & then renew it again. If the Oil prescribed
has not rendered the Skin tender it may be continued &
for certain the dry rubbing is to be continued & persisted in ---
