For Mr Henderson. --


His ailments commonly obstinate & have been so in his
case; but not to any degree, & every thing as we hoped
from time & pains at his age. ----- Continue the Seton
now open for at least 9 Months to come, & if it wears out
on one side it may be put into the other. --


Avoid cold; flannel next his skin every where well
cloathed & avoied going abroad in Cold or wet weather-


Exercise on horseback or in a carriage as often as con¬
venient- Every Morning he shouuld rub his limbs
with the flesh brush from the haunches downwards, gentle
but long continued. -- I am clear he may have benefit from
Electricity -- hire an Apparatus to be used in the house the
best time for it is immediately after the flesh brush- -


Diet as usual neither full nor low, avoid all heavy

food or difficult of digestion -- Mustard with vic¬
tuals proper. ------ Ordinary drink must be well
brewed small beer & every day at dinner 2 or 3 Glasses
of wine or punch ----- Keep his belly regular


Every Morning take a table spoonful of un bruised
white mustard seed & if this do not answer must frequently
take a dose of the Pills. -- Every Night at bed time
whether he takes the Pills or not take a table spoonfull
of the Mixture. --- Every day an hour before dinner
& supper take a heaped tea spoonfull of the Pulv. in
water & wash it down with the same. -- Both these
Medicines taken for a fortnight after he goes home
or if their effects appear good to be continued longer
but if not remarkable better to lay them aside for a
fortnight & then take a second course.

Take one drachm of Socotrine Aloes, twelve grains of Gamboge, one drachm of Extract of Gentian, fifteen grains of Polychrest salts and Simple Syrup at sufficient quantity to let a Pill Mass be made and divided into five grains. Label: Laxative Pills.Take one ounce of Guaicum Elixir, half an ounce of Tincture of Valerian, {illeg} add one and a half ounces of Balsam syrup, and three ounces each of Peppermint Water and Simple Cinnamon. Label: Diaphoretic Mixture.Take one and a half ounces each of powdered Peruvian Bark and Valerian root Syrup and three drachms of cinammon.
