Mr John Cross Concerning his Son.
If no new Eruption appear and the old crusts continue to
fall off, which is the common effect of this Season ↑nothing is to be done.↑ But
in case of any new Eruption or new crust forming, let him
take the Antimonial Essence. - 20 drops in a spoonful or
two of fresh Spring water. This medicine sometimes gives sick¬
ness & squeamishness, & if the dose proposed, do so, take no
larger dose; but if it do not affect his stomach, the dose
is to be increased by 5 drops every day till it come to

give him a little sickness or squeamishness; then increase
the dose no farther. A dose is to be taken every morning
before breakfast & every night at bedtime. but it is
only from the morning dose that you are to judge of its
effects. At the full dose his stomach bears you are to
continue it for a month & then I beg to have a report
of its effects upon his Eruption; as according ↑to↑ these I
would order particular medicines for the winter & especially
for the Spring. Continue his Diet as hitherto, without
fish, salted meat, Eggs or cheese -
Take two ounces of Antimonial Wine; label Antimonial Essence
