For the Earl of Errol

as your letter gives me no new information as to the nature
of your Lordship's complaints. I retain my former Opinion.
I hope the Tinct I advised, will remove the complaints of the
Stomach, but long continued may do harm therefore your Lord¬
ships should lay it aside when your Stomach is totally well.
& only upon return of complaint, to return to it.

Whether the pains be rheumatic or Gouty, guard against
Cold & especially when pains actually come on.

Exercise of great importance. but pains threaten & bad weather
more harm may be got from Cold, [than?] benefit by Exercise

Whether the pains be of one or other kind, continue the white
mustard
, especially as I expect it will keep the belly regular.
All my former advices to regard to Regimen are to be
still observed.
