For the Revd Mrs Thorp.

Glad Mrs Th. has been free from her stomach complaints -- the new
symptom troublesome but may be removed. Has done right in laying
aside the Pills, but must keep her belly regular & for that purpose the Electuary
ordered below which will keep easy without purging The Castor oil would be very
proper but you never told me how it answered with her. If at any
time the pains of her belly and strangury be urgent, when she has
not had a stool sometime before, her most immediate relief would be
a glyster of water & oil as formerly, but may now be with the Asafoetida.
Besides the care of her belly, she should every day take Gum Arabic half-an-ounce
dissolved in a pint of water, to be drunk at 3 or 4 draughts & at
such times of day as most agreeable, warm or cold as agreeable but
best a little warm.

For entirely removing this disorder, the Powder ordered below, one twice
a day for a week. -- an hour before dinner & before supper mixed
with a little water & washed down with a cupful of the Solution of Gum Arabic

Take Two ounces of Flowers of Sulphur in one ounce of Simple Syryp for a soft lenitive Electuary as before. [temie?] Label: Laxative Electuary. One or two teaspoonfuls for a dose, in the morning.

Take half an ounce of powdered leaves of Uva UrsiLabel: In case of emergency. Dose No. 14 Label: Aperient powders etc.
