For Mr Strachan.

The remedy I would chiefly trust to is cold bathing
first, by pouring it on his head.--- 2dly if he bears this
neaxt set him in a Tub & pour it over his head neck & Shoul¬
ders
&c.- The Chamber bath the most eligible method, but
till I know how he bears the bathing, we shall not say any
more about it-.

Continue at the same time the Antimony to the
quantity of keeping his belly regular.

To favour his Sleeping I have precribed below

I cannot (↑would not↑) prescribe any particular, diet, but let him
avoid animal food entirely & he may have any kind of
vegetables & milk meat he likes best.

Plain Water, Whey, or Butter Milk -the most proper
drinks for him --

{illeg} being in the fresh air will be of Service, but
he must avoid the heat of the Sun, or any bodily exer¬
cise that may heat him

The bathing should be in the morning before
breakfast, or if he does not like it then, any time in the
forenoon----

X Take one drachm of Camphor and half a drachm of Nitric powder. Add little drops of Rectified alcohol and rub them into the powder, then add one and a half drachms of the best Asæfœtida and enough mucilage such as [Gum Arabic?] to make a mass. Divide into pills of five grains each. Label: Cephalic Pills 2 or 3 to be taken every night for a week.
