For Miss Brownlee at Lanerk.


A perpetual issue in the crown of her head.

[Start of margin text]X[End of margin text] Take four ounces of Rose water, two drachms of Vinegar distillate, and one scruple of Sugar of lead. Dissolve and filter through paper. Label: Eyewater for bathing the left eye every night & morning especially when any heat or scalding of the [e]ye lids is troublesome.

[Start of margin text]X[End of margin text] Twice a week, for 2 or 3 weeks, Take [this separately?]: three or even five grains of Sweet mercury & Take it just before morning, gently Purifying it out from an infused Tamarind or Powdered Jallop preparation, as it seems [to rid a disposition of its grievance?].
