For Mr Wm Tait. Colinsburgh.

I am very happy to hear that Kincraig is so much
better since he went to the Country & I hope he shall be
better still tho it is not easy for a person at his time
of life to get clear of all infirimities . I think Asses
milk may be of service to him but he must take care
to keep his Stomach clear by a vomit now & then. For
the complaint of his water I think it will be very proper
to return to the Lime water but I would not join any
soap to it in the present state of his Stomach. If the
Complaint becomes more urgent I would advise Kincraig
to try the Lixivium but not without necessity. Tho the
Cream of Tartar had agreed it is not proper now along
with the Lime water but I suppose you will easily find
another Laxative. Unless his breathing becomes very
uneasy
I would not advise a blister. I would chiefly
advise the continuance of his exercise on horseback or
in a carriage. He should be busy while the weather is
good for bad weather & winter will come to confine
him very much. With compliments & best wishes to
Kincraig & his Lady I am Dear Sir

Your most obedient Servant.
