Dear Sir

In General my Complaints are much
the same as when I last wrote you, except that I have
had for upwards of fifteen days a good diel of Swell¬
ing
in my feet, more particularly across ↑just↑ above my toes
and even my toes themselves, attended with a great
appearance of inflamation, with Shooting Pains
sometim (↑times↑) in my great toe, my heels, ancles, and
indeed at times as far up as my knee, they are
worst in the evening or t↑o↑wards three oClock in the
morning at which time I am feverish and restless.-

My Stomach has been I think much easyer
for some time past, particularly since the Swelling
& inflamation in my feet came on.- The Swelling
I mentioned in my feet before (but had almost got
the better of) never was attended with pain or such
inflamation as now, but only an uneasy feeling and
blew Colour.. The inflamed appearance never
reaches above my Ancle.- Another thing I must
observe to you is; that often in the morning when

[Page 2]

I first wake there is a Stifness in the joints of my
fingers, which goes off when moving, a great heat
in my hands at the same time.-- I should be glad to
know your opinion of this Attack, and if any thing
ought to be done in consequence---

My Sister has
been much the better of your prescription, I think
you mentioned not to continue the drops after the
end of October, is she to give over taking them
at that time for the Winter, or continue them.--

I am Dear Sir

Yours very Sincerely
D>Muirhead

Ps: I have been but very little of late troubled
with the uneasyness in my Side & Shoulder, and I
think more Strength than I had some time ago
I still continue the same diet.--
