Dear Gentlemen


Yesterday about Eight
oClock Mr. Bethune got a tea spoonful of
the Electuary which sat well on his Stomach
and operated about nine a second watery
stool was produced about midday, Urine
still in small quantity, Complains more
of thirst & dryness in his mouth & throat.
Stomach still averse to food- Swelling on his
Limbs as before no way deminish'd--


Pectoral Symptoms the same as when
you saw Mr. Bethune, about 2 oClock this
morning however he complain'd more of
pain about the sides & across the Thorax
& express'd such feelings as if he would have

been easier could he have belch'd up wind
from his Stomach, dry frictions & some
drops of Hartshorn after which he became
[& dropt?] a Sleep. Shall repeat the
Electuary tomorrow- I had almost forgot
to say that yesterday morning I observ'd
that Mr. Bethune had spit up some
Bloody stuff
through the night as far as I
know there has been no ↑such↑ appearance since.


Shall report Mr. Bethunes Case tomorrow
or next day- I am with regard
