I having at different times been much distressed by
a swelling in my Leggs, which is now returnd with greater
violence than it was since I first had it, I send you inclosed
a State of the Case as made out by Mr. Hamilton Surgeon --
who has attended me, to which I have nothing to add --
Only in this late attack I have been pretty much troubled
with a Shortness of braeth, tho this does not troble me at night, and
I lye with ease on either side, and of late the swelling is falen
down to the Scrotum & the {illeg} of my britches - I should be
Happy to have your advice & Directions in this trouble ---
by my ordinary Habit, I used to perspire pretty much at night
and Since the Swelling begun I have not had so much of it,
You pleas direct for me at Genoch by Glenluce --
