Countesswells 15 May 1782 -
Sir


Since I was favored by with your advice by your Letter
of 27th. Ultimo - I have rigidly adhered, to what you order --- the
quieting draught did at first give me much relief, but it soon
lost its efficacy - I have two days ago got an ass, and take ½
pint milk morning, noon, & night, since which I have rested better
tho upon the whole I am very poorly --- I doubt I shall be recruited
↑when warm weather↑ sitts in warm, which it is long of doing --- I shall then not fail
to take the long summer journey which you prescrible, & hope will
be ↑so↑ well enough before winter, that ↑it↑ will not be thought necessary
for me to go out of the Island --- Supposing this to be the Case
I have the favor to request of you sir to inform ↑me↑, what town
or County in England you think most proper to pass the winter
in --- or should I be orderd abroad, what place in France, which
I would prefer greatly to any other foreign Country --- My tho I
but weak I beg you will send me Dr. Grants' Letter to Mrs.
Burnett, which she gave you & You have forget to return
My Lowness will plead Excuse for the incorrectness of
