I received both yours, & had luckyly before they
came to hand been both Bled & Vomited, I received much bene¬
fit from both, & a good deall from the Pectoral Mixture
On Thursday Morning I began to drink Ass Milk, & about
Midday I was taken with a loossness, which has continued ever
since, & I now begin to turn somewhat uneasy about it
as I have Violent Gripes always before I go to stool. I have
have taken 30 drops of Laudanum every Night which Allayed
the pain for 4 or 5 Hours, but then the Gripes returned
again as Violent as ever. I gave up the Milk, & I
this day took by the Surgeons order some High
toasted Rhubarb, which has been of little service
[Page 2]
My Cough & Breast Complaints are now entirely
gone, & this Flux is what distresses me. I am firmly
perswaded its an Operation of Nature throwing off some
Humors that have originated from my former Complaints
but the lasting so long fears me, as I am already
so much reduced that I am not able to bear very Violent
Shocks. I had almost forgot to tell you, that I cou'd not
apply the Blister, as I coud not ly in Bed for the
Cough I was obliged to get a Bed Chair & sitt up in
it, so that had I put it on I coud not have rested my¬
self in any Shape. I beg to hear from in return
& I am respectfully
