Sir

I received yours on tuesday forenoon, and Comuni¬
cate the Contents thereof to Mr Livingstone, and as his headach
was still Continuing very severe, he was fond of trying the
Blister, which was accordingly applied between his Shoulders
that Evening, it rose very well but altho' I gave him 20 drops
of Laudanum, he gott no rest, and said it was more owing
to the pains in the head, than the blister, nor did he seem to have
the smallest relieff from it, on the Contrary the Pains were greatly
increas'd which Continued all ↑next↑ day, and did not seem to put on
the periodical apearance as Usuall, the samething has happened
this day but the Pains still more acute, when I Calld there this
Evening I found his father busy shaving his head, as he was
rather aukward at the business I finished the operation, and
bathd his head with vinegar and water which he thought gave
him some relief; his water for two nights by past; that made
at bedtime had a thick while sediment, and a milky apearance
that made in the mornings the same milky apearance butt not
so much seperate -- his health in other respects greatly better
his apetite good, no thirst, his tongue Clean, his skin which was
formerly dry and parch'd, now moist and soft, gentle perspir¬
ation, and no sweat immoderate sweats altho two nights ago
he putt on more Cloaths than ordinary in order to force one
his Pulse about 80 in the forenoon about 85 in the Evenings
he has been rather Costive for which he is to take a Laxative in
the morning --- I forgott to mention he thinks he makes more water
than ordinary, and more than he drinks
, when you write here lett it
be in such a manner as I can show it to the Laird I ever remain

Sir Your Most Obedient Servant
