Dear Doctor

As I have no Answer to
my Letter of the 23. I begin to suspect it
has Miscarried - tho' it is a thing I have not
known before - Along with it I sent a Card to
the two junior Doctors -

At any rate there is no harm in resuming Lady
Grace Campbels State, which, independent of my
Letter, you already know very fully.

A general failure of all her powers intellec¬
tual as well as Corporeal, is very observable -
She complains of Headache with Vertigo &
Dazzling or flashes of Light from her Eyes.
She eats without Appetite - her tongue is clean
& has no thirst. Pulse was small & rather
slow
- A Blister was applied to the head
& a good deal of Camphire was given i. e-
5 grains in a draught either twice or thrice
a day

[Page 2]

She takes thrice a day a Dose of Bark
Valerian & Ginger . & a Spoonful
of Mustard Seed is ordered at bed time.

Her head is allowed to heal from the
Blister
with the intention of repeating it.
She takes the Bath - & uses regular
Exercise.

By my yesterdays Letter, she has rather
gained than lost ground - Tho' She is not
fond of Drugs, She is persuaded to take
them and is a very good patient -

If you have my former Letter, this will be
Superfluous - I shall be glad to hear from
you on this Subject & am

Dear Doctor
Your most humble Servant
A. Stevenson
