The uneasiness in my
breast continues much ↑the same↑ as when
I left you, but it seems to extend
sometimes towards the left side
with a sense of heat & something
like stricture - in general it is
uniformly under my right breast-
My Pulse is good as when you
felt it about 72 - No Cough or sweats
my appetite pretty good, but very
little eating makes the afternoon
most painful- My rest is very
much disturbed by dreams [&?]
perpetual turning tho' I do not
count the hours yet I can be
very sensible of something or
other (tis more uneasiness than
pain) which requires a constant
change of posture - I breathe freely
there is often a heat between my
[Page 2]
shoulders and down the back when
tis there I feel none elsewhere -
My habit is Costive - that has been
the case for years- I never take
any medicine unless when at
sea where it is much encreased-
I feel well on horseback, Milk agrees
with my Stomach- I can bear but
little exercise & most of all my
nights distress me- I shall ↑be↑ happy
to have a line from I am this
moment thinking about a
voyage-
I remain with great
respect your most obliged
