Sir

I have used the medicine you prescribed
for a month and faithfully followed all your direct¬
ions, but cannot say the Scurvy has yielded much.
It sometimes grows better for a few days and then
returns –– for when I left Edinburgh there was scarce
any outstriking upon me, but now it is almost
as bad as when you saw it first – Your advice
therefor, whither I should continue your prescription
or if bathing in the Sea would do any good,
will much oblige

Sir
Your most humble Servant
Michl. Stewart

P.S. My GrandFather presents his compliments to
