Newport Isle of White December 25th.
1779.

Doctr. Cullen
Sir


you Desired me before you
Left me at Mr. Mc.Millars if any thing new arrose on
my arrival at the Isle of White to Let you know it and you
would write me in Course. I am abad hand myself and there
is only an [Appocath...?] and Son in the place which I belive
Doues not [stet?] such cases, I {illeg} some time at [Lorres?] on
my first Arrival owing to virey bad vether. I was nel
stil wors of I could not Get proper victuals to Eat at Last.
I was taken with a Laxee some Days after wards I came
up to this place I have had the Laxee these twelve Days
past and still containus haveing at all to go often from
Eight to twelve times in 12 hours passes Little, I take -
a {illeg} Draught Every night at bedtime from the [Appoctr?]
this Laxee his kept the Cough Moderate. I Dare not ---
move for fear of Getting a Cold. There is such a sharp {illeg}
I hope youll Let me have your Answer in Cousse if you
can understand it thisLaxee troubles me much I am Sir

My Brekfast Since I came to this place his bun charlots
or coca Dinner a smal bowle Barrley Broath with
the Lig or wing of a fowle supper is commonly
some wine mixt which I Eat with Dry toast Borad
I have ton or three Glasses, of stuff and a little bread betwixt
meals.
