Mr. Brougham a Gentleman who was with
you about a month ago; his complaint is a pain
in his Stomach, & Breast, he has his appetite
tolerably well, & was easy after a meal, until the
evening, then the pain came on: You ordered him
a Stomachic tincture, 2 ounces of Steel Tincture aro¬
matic one ounce, & a bottle of Stomachic drops, the
Proprietary Elixir of Vitriol, & a mixture with
Simple Cinnamon Water & c; he has taken the me¬
dicines regularly; after a week he was quite
free from the pain in his Stomach, & Breast, &
continued so for 8 or 10 days, but within this
few days has had a return of the pain, more
violent than ever, & is generally now seized
in the night: The Seton is healed, & the pain
in his sides gone, so that it appears now to proceed
from an indigestion, as he complains much of
