A day or two after I did myself the Honour of paying my
respects to you, I had an express 1 , to this place where I found
my Father dangerously Ill - His Case was a suppression of urine
and no attempt had been made to relieve him till my arrival which
was on the fourth day of the suppression. The Catheter twice a
day has been used, and no prospect of nature restoring
the lost Tone of the Bladder. --- I have exhausted my skill &
endeavour to relieve him to no purpose. -- Altho turn'd of
Eighty years, He had Constitution enough to lived ten
years more if this had not happened to him.
Fomentations & Cataplasms to the region of the
Bladder have been applied. Bark as a Tonic has been
taken, and the stimulating Powers of Garlic Onions
Cresses Radishes &c freely eaten of little avail in this Case
I request you will per Post favour me with a
few lines, and what you think can be done, and you
will confer a great favour on me who am with
much respect

Your most obedient servant
