Berwick 14 March 1776
Dear Sir


Miss Strangeways 60 years of age
consulted you when you were last here for herself
and Neice, the latter is better but the former no better
of her Complaints, she has put me on business very
disagreable to me that is to trouble you without a
fee, the reason she gives for doing so is because
she gave you Three Guineas - Her complaints
are a great weight or load at her breast & sometimes
a pain, her breast feels to her as if there was something
to come up which she cannot get up, she has a Cough
and Spits a great deal, she is generally thirsty,
appetite pretty good, pulse good, no sweating night
nor day, a stool once a day ---you ordered her
as on the other side --------

The Gum Ammon Assafeetid to be ʒi
extract gentian ʒiſs Syr Simple, of sufficient mass that pills may be made
two to be taken Three times a day washing
them down with two table Spoonfulls of the
Oily Mixture ---as th


As the above things has not given any relief
if you will please to order her anything else
you think proper, you will Oblige
