Dear Doctor,

After I returned from Edinburgh (at Easter)
I applied to the diaphoretic Mixture, and found service from it; still
the eruption upon the skin continued, but no biles; after which I used
the warm bath, sometimes twice & sometimes thrice a week,
but whether it was, that it was too warm, or that I staid too long
in, but it weakened, nay sickened me much; how ↑ever↑ the eruption
all disappeared; I wrote to you in the mean time, but received
no answer. Since about Autumn I have been as well as
I could expect, yea better than I have been for these two years.

At present I have a dizziness, with which I have been troubled
almost two years, and when turning {illeg} about, I am some¬
times like to fall, it is indeed the principal complaint that I
now have, Mr. Turnbull advised me to drink valerian
tea
for it, which I did, as I thought it was harmless, and
I thought I found relief, still it does not remove it.

Nothing else have I taken by any one's advice since I had
the good fortune of applying to you, or intend to take as long as
you will be kind enough to prescribe for me. At your
leisure I will be infinitely, obliged to you to let me know what
you think of this dizziness.

Wishing you the Compliments of the Season, I am Dear Doctor,
Your much obliged & very humble
Servant

a duck, a chicken, and a Couple of Rabbets.
