For Mr Mucklejohn.


Till free of cough, spitting, & pain of side, continue
his milk & vegetables diet: abstain from all
fermented liquors.


Live in the country till winter.

Avoid cold. Flannel shirt, warm clothing.


Ride on horseback; but moderately.

Take acid mixture &c -

Take half-an-ounce of Balsam of Tolu, two drachms of Spermaceti and half-an-ounce of [refined white sugar?]; gently pulverise and blend until soft and thicken with two ounces of conserve of rose and Syrup of Balsam sufficient to make an Electuary. Label: Pectoral Electuary: bigness of a nutmeg to be taken every night at bed time.
