Letter from William Farquharson, concerning the case of Mrs Moody, a newly-married woman of 20, 'of a delicate habit'. Six months previously, she had been advised by an acquaintance 'to use Spilsbury's drops for an eruption on her hands'. Since then, she has caught cold twice – returning from a dance, and after her wedding. She has now become seriously ill with a cough, spitting, and painful inflammation on the chest. Her menses are also obstructed, but she is not pregnant. | 7 March 1787 | |||
