George Burnett (1714-1780). Agricultural improver and the third laird of Kenmay, near Aberdeen, the son of Thomas Burnet(t) (1656-1729), and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Richard Brickenden of Inkpen, Berkshire. George Burnett married Helen, daughter of Sir Alexander Burnett of Leys in 1734. He died in late 1780 soon after seeking Cullen’s advice over a ten-year chest complaint that had recently become more serious.
