Notes
Son of Gerhard, and Margarethe Tschiffeli, daughter of David Bailiff of Bern. Became a Polish Baron in 1766. Studied medicine, obtaining doctorate in Valencia in 1746. Was Doctor "pending" of the Swiss Guards in Paris in 1752, and succeeded his brother in 1755 as a doctor of the regiment. The Duke of Orleans in 1766 brought him into the body of his doctors. Herrenschwand inspected the hospitals in Flanders, Artois and Lorraine in 1782. He was charged with the same mission in Lorraine, Franche-Comté Dauphiné and Provence in 1785. |
