Anglican vicar of Wooler from 1755 until his death on 31 Jan. 1780. He married Martha Wilkie, of the Wilkies of Hetton. Their eldest son John inherited the manor of Hetton from his maternal uncle. Cuthbert Allen was also a patient and friend of William Turnbull from Wooler. See (Burke, Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Commoners of Great Britain and Ireland, v. 4, p. 635). |
