Tinctura Japonica
Japonic Tincture, being a mixture of Japonic Earth, cinnamon and spirit (Edinburgh New Dispensatory, 1786). Not a type of earth, but an imported soluble gum known as Cutch, derived from the wood of the tree Senegalia catechu. See also 'Terra Japonica' and 'Japonic Confection'.
