Dear Sir

I received yours just now, sent for D.r Lorrain, and
you have my case, Wrote by him, inclosed. I have only
to add; thought it began with a Coldness on the nap of
my neck
from a sifting wind which I had sitt opposite to
the [check?] of a press. The Coldness continued for sometime -
Annie rub’d it every morning and applied a piece of flannel
upon the place during the day, and when out in the air
it went off. However it increased daily and began to be
painfull in the night time. Since I began to be Confined
the pain increases when I go out in the air. The pain
ceases during the day, although I cannot turn my head to
either side and cannot use the least freedome but must
keep in one position, besides I am otherwise out of order
and at Lowness of Spirits, my urine is very thick a[nd]
[lea?]ves a thick White sediment at the bottom
. I am s[orry]
to give you the trouble, But since you are so good as to
advise me to a Consultation would be glad if the answer
could be sent by Monday nights post. I shall pay your
sisters on Monday as you direct and will draw upon you
in favour of Mr. G. Home. I am glad to hear that you &
M.rs Davidson are better. I have a great trouble in Writing

I am
your affectionate friend
