Mr Spalding Gordon's Case continued


On wednesday Evening on the removal of the Cataplasms
as mentioned in my last applied dry warm flannels to the
feet which have been continued ever since but the
swelling of the anclet and Toe is rather decreased and the
pain in these parts very inconsiderable. Thursday
Pulse from sixty ↑eight↑ to seventy The fullness and seemingly
fixed hardness on the right side of the 2d. vertebrae of the
Neck intirely gone. His spirits much depressed voided,
much limpid urine which deposited no sediment sleept
little
. Friday Pulse from seventy to seventy four spirits
better appetite better, urine of the natural Colour
a deposites a light sandy coloured sediment Inflammation
in the left Eye greatly decreased the right much as
before, still complains much of his head sleept better
Saturday much the same as the preceding day.
Sunday and saturday Pulse from seventy to seventy
four
urine & appetite as before Inflammation in the right
Eye decreased the left almost gone, still complains

much of the pain of the head rested poorly. Tuesday Pulse
seventy four
took little food, had little sleep urine
the same complains much of low spirits and pain in
the
head. Wednesday this morning gave him a dose
of Dovers powder as directed which has produced an
universal gentle sweet for these ten hours past and still
continues, has not been much healed Pulse seventy
Inflammation in the left Eye intirely gone the right
much decreased still complaints of much pain of his head


He declares he has no reason to believe he labours under
any venereal Taint he looking on himself as
thorroughly cured. Has contracted no fresh Infection since
nor had any Complaints that indicated a latent
infection
. He is much reduced and exceeding weak
and has not been out of his Room this month past
and many days not out of his Bed.
