Cullen

The Consultation Letters of Dr William Cullen (1710-1790) at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh

[ID:5462] From: Dr William Cullen (Professor Cullen) / To: Dr / Regarding: Mr (The Chevalier) (Patient) / 18 May 1787 / (Outgoing)

Reply to an unnamed male correspondent, in form of a cover-note for a response (not immediately present) concerning an unnamed patient. Cullen apologises for his delayed response to a request for advice which is due to his graduation duties. Probably the cover letter for Document ID:5460, a very substantial response concerning a 'Chevalier" who is mentally disturbed. This association is supported by Cullen's allusion to the 'patient's friends' in the cover-note, a phrase which elsewhere invariably implies that he is addressing interested parties in a case of mental disturbance.
