The Consultation Letters of Dr William Cullen (1710-1790) at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh
[ID:523] From: Dr William Cullen (Professor Cullen) / To: [ADDRESSEE UNKNOWN] / Regarding: Mrs Wallis (Patient) / 6 April 1782 / (Outgoing)
Reply for Mrs Wallis [probably addressed to he husband], in whose complaints Cullen sees 'no distinct appearance of any particular disease'. He suggests a 'weakness of nerves' as the sole ailment, acquired partly from her constitution and partly from 'the accidents which have happened'. He recommends the avoidance of cold and of any activity which 'might flurry her spirits', and when she is in Ireland, the 'frequent use of cold bathing' with the 'waters of Marrow'.
