The Consultation Letters of Dr William Cullen (1710-1790) at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh
[ID:2532] Case Note / Regarding: Mrs Watson (Patient) / 25? September? 1784 / (Incoming)
Case note by Robert Watson, describing the case of Mrs Watson (presumably his wife), aged 25 and 'of a Scorbutic habit of body', who caught cold 3 months after giving birth. She then suffered a relapse after riding to Edinburgh (their country home is about 9 miles south of town), and suffers from bouts of cough, shivering, sweating and retching. The letter is annotated 'October', but as Cullen responded to it on 30 September, it must be dated a few days earlier.
